Custom Setups

In this Boot Camp, you’ll learn more than just factory setups. We teach you how to adjust the guitar to the player’s playing style. Understanding the right questions to ask your customer, and how to integrate that information into the perfect setup.

Trussrod Adjustment

The foundation of a proper setup begins with the Trussrod.

Bridge Saddle Adjustment

Adjusting the action at the bridge saddle(s) gives you the options of high, medium or low action.

Carving the String Nut

The condition and action at the String Nut will affect the play-ability of any guitar. For example; tuning issues, intonation, string rattle and ease of play.

Adjusting The Intonation

Adjusting the intonation is the final step of a setup. When adjusted properly, your guitar will play well- in-tune. We teach both traditional techniques as well as various Tempered Tuning Systems.

Neck Resets

Learn how to reset a Taylor Neck. Students will learn how to correct the neck angle, the effects of Compression & Draw and how the Taylor Neck Shims work.

Taylor ES-1 & ES-2 Pickup system

Learn how to troubleshoot the Taylor ES-1 & ES-2 Pickup systems. We explain the difference between them and how to repair or replace them.
